Ryan van Asseldonk took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Richard Vennegoor, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Richard Vennegoor in the 32nd minute of play forced Kraaiven's goalkeeper Ryan van Asseldonk to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 0-1 became the score in the 35th minute when Jacobus Roeles elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. The supporters of Westerhoven FC booed when Kraaiven was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Koos Breugel didn't get a good kick on the ball. 41 minutes into the match, Maurits de Haan notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Kraaiven's Ryan van Asseldonk. Ryan van Asseldonk was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bram Korsma in the 45th minute of play forced Westerhoven FC's goalkeeper Peter van Dinteren to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Richard Vennegoor to make the kick off. In the 55th minute the ball was on its way in behind Kraaiven's goalkeeper Ryan van Asseldonk, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 56th minute, Kurt de Lange hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Kraaiven's zone, Maurits de Haan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ryan van Asseldonk came out of the goal and Maurits de Haan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Roland Boezem's late challenge caught a Kraaiven's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 88 minutes into the match, Westerhoven FC's Richard Vennegoor sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ryan van Asseldonk narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 89th minute, Rudi Das hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After recieving a nice pass, Westerhoven FC's Jan Hendrik Halen tried to score from far away in the 90th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Westerhoven FC succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Kraaiven had controlled the match.
