The referee ignored Maurik S.C.'s protests and gave Otto Ginneken a yellow card for diving instead. In the 2nd minute, Otto Ginneken hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Luissel Eendracht's Gerrit Harding in the 6th minute got a chance for a shot 6th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Maurik S.C.'s goalie prevented a goal. The supporters of Luissel Eendracht booed when Maurik S.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hubert Alkema didn't get a good kick on the ball. Carlo Aalberts received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Roland van Basten tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 20th minute, Auke van der Woude managed to get in a good position for a shot. Maurik S.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Auke van der Woude was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rudolf Beishuizen breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Auke van der Woude had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jan Sándor in the 27th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rudolf Beishuizen prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gerrit Harding to strike the kick off in the second half. The crowd rose to their feet as Gerrit Harding kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Roland van Basten. That made the score 0-1 in the 53 minute of play. If Auke van der Woude had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Roland van Basten made a fantastic save in the 62nd minute, when Peter Grasmaaijer sent off a good shot on target. Roland van Basten showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gerrit Harding in the 65th minute of the match. Nathan Akkerman charged in rather forcefully in the 67th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nathan Akkerman the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 69 played minutes, Maurik S.C.'s Hubert Alkema shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Rudolf Beishuizen came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Maurik S.C. reached it. Maurik S.C.'s Jan Sándor got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 72 played minutes Luissel Eendracht got a freekick which was hit by Peter Grasmaaijer. If Carlo Aalberts had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Roland van Basten showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gerrit Harding in the 78th minute of the match. When Auke van der Woude came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the Maurik S.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Auke van der Woude couldn't finish the play. Gerrit Harding hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. Auke van der Woude sent away a hard shot on goal in the 99th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The Maurik S.C. supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Luissel Eendracht's performance. The match ended with a win for Luissel Eendracht.
