But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Niek Ter couldn't finish the play. Laagraven RKSV's Martien Zadelhoff played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Han Steffens in the 27th minute of play. After having played for 34 minutes, Niek Ter managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. In the 88th minute, Han Steffens got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Niek Ter in the 92nd minute of play forced Laagraven RKSV's goalkeeper Martien Zadelhoff to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 94th minute the ball was on its way in behind Laagraven RKSV's goalkeeper Martien Zadelhoff, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. There was no doubt that Watergang HC were the better team. Watergang HC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
