After a defensive mix-up in Riel HC's zone, Huib Som stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nico Hoving came out of the goal and Huib Som tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Arnold Adriaanse managed to get in a good position for a shot. Brukske's supporters rose to their feet, but Arnold Adriaanse was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nico Hoving breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Huib Som received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Nico Hoving tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nico Hoving showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Huib Som, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. In the 39th minute, Huib Som made a precise shot to the right of Nico Hoving. Riel HC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Pieter Seinstra took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 57th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Kenneth Barends. Brukske's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After some careless play in the Riel HC defense, Huib Som kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Nico Hoving. The Riel HC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nico Hoving should have stopped the shot. Pieter Seinstra's late challenge caught a Brukske's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Pieter Seinstra helped the player get up and apologised. If Gijs Wisgerhof had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 74th minute, Huib Som fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Arnold Adriaanse's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nico Hoving read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 76th minute of play. Kenneth Barends showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gijs Wisgerhof in the 77th minute of the match. Kenneth Barends didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Hans Bense went, in the 79th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. If Huib Som had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
