When the match had gone on for 10 minutes, Harold Waldijk took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Dennis Korevaar to make any attempt to save it. After having played for 14 minutes, René Boezem managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Margraten's supporters crossed their fingers, but René Boezem was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Margraten booed when Zandstroom VV was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Casper Tonnis didn't get a good kick on the ball. 17 minutes into the match, Margraten's Ger Roordink sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Berry Hoogsteen narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Harmen de Koning struck a weak shot in the 18th minute. Dennis Korevaar didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Zandstroom VV. Harmen de Koning who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 24thth minute tested the skills of Dennis Korevaar when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 28th minute, Evert Saveneij hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 29th minute of the match Jeroen de Hoop shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Dennis Korevaar showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Casper Tonnis kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. René Boezem struck a weak shot in the 33rd minute. Berry Hoogsteen didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Margraten. With a couple of smart ball manuevers René Boezem in the 36th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Berry Hoogsteen saved Zandstroom VV from getting behind. Dennis Korevaar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Harold Waldijk in the 43rd minute of the match. Harold Waldijk might have been able to make a better finish in the 44th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dennis Korevaar. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Harold Waldijk ran back to his position shaking his head. 46 minutes into the match, René Boezem notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Zandstroom VV's Berry Hoogsteen. Berry Hoogsteen was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

If Harold Waldijk had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 53 minutes into the game, Evert Saveneij was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Margraten's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Zandstroom VV the free kick. In the 53rd minute, Evert Saveneij hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Harold Waldijk in the 65th minute of play forced Margraten's goalkeeper Dennis Korevaar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Zandstroom VV's Berry Hoogsteen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Evert Saveneij in the 72nd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Margraten's zone, Harmen de Koning stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dennis Korevaar came out of the goal and Harmen de Koning tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 96th minute, Evert Saveneij hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
