The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Marnix Kors showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arjen Zwaanswijk in the 11th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Coevering's Huub Engbers got a free kick in the 12th minute. Teo Schenning struck a weak shot in the 13th minute. Kelvin Butter didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cortenoever. Kelvin Butter was out of position in the 16 minute of play, and Teo Schenning capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Teo Schenning really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. After a rather tough play, Coevering's Bennie Huizing got a free kick in the 19th minute. Maurits Oldenbeuving struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. In the 38th match minute, Cortenoever was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Simon Appel to maneuver through the defense. Gerwin de Rooy took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 39th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Marnix Kors. Cortenoever's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 40th minute, Teo Schenning managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cortenoever's supporters rose to their feet, but Teo Schenning was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kelvin Butter breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Dave Andriessen charged in rather forcefully in the 41st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dave Andriessen the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Cortenoever booed when Coevering was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dave Andriessen didn't get a good kick on the ball. Coevering's Kelvin Butter proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 45th minute of the match, managed to save Coevering from getting a goal against them. Teo Schenning in the 46thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Kelvin Butter, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Evert van der Werff to strike the kick off in the second half. The crowd rose to their feet as Evert van der Werff kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Marnix Kors. That made the score 2-2 in the 58 minute of play. Arjen Zwaanswijk sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cortenoever's Teo Schenning got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Teo Schenning fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kelvin Butter having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Coevering's zone, Teo Schenning stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kelvin Butter came out of the goal and Teo Schenning tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cortenoever's Govert Blaauwgeers got a good chance for a goal in the 83rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Govert Blaauwgeers came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the Cortenoever fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Govert Blaauwgeers couldn't finish the play. In the 89th minute, Coevering's Evert van der Werff dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-3. Simon Lambers recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Huub Engbers hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match.
