Spectators: 36 (Terracing: 28, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Edgard Saveneij started the match with the kick off. Arjen Witters hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. After 9 played minutes, Gasthuis's Roeland Wilminck shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Jaap Roetering came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Gasthuis reached it. In the 12th minute there was a penalty for Gasthuis. Rogier Winters stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Jaap Roetering. 0-1. Jaap Roetering took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hette Nijemanting, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jan Oss charged in rather forcefully in the 15th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jan Oss the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 15 played minutes Eikenheuvel got a freekick which was hit by Jan Oss. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Arjen Witters during the 17th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Gasthuis booed when Eikenheuvel was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arjen Witters didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 19th minute Bertus Som shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jaap Roetering saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jaap Roetering made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hette Nijemanting in the 23rd minute of play. After having played for 24 minutes, Edgard Saveneij managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gasthuis's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edgard Saveneij was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edgard Saveneij in the 28th minute of play forced Eikenheuvel's goalkeeper Jaap Roetering to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Gasthuis's Rogier Winters got a free kick in the 30th minute. In the 33rd minute Hette Nijemanting shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jaap Roetering saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Gerald Stroeve came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Eikenheuvel fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gerald Stroeve couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Eikenheuvel getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Timmie Dongen hit a great ball. Jaap Roetering showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hette Nijemanting in the 45th minute of the match. Jan Oss kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match.

After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Gerald Stroeve managed to get in a good position for a shot. Eikenheuvel's supporters rose to their feet, but Gerald Stroeve was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bernard Craandijk breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jaap Roetering showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edgard Saveneij, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. Jaap Roetering was a little too slow when Arnold van Schaik got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 78th minute. The score was now 1-2. Jaap Roetering didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Hette Nijemanting went, in the 80th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. When Arjen Witters came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the Eikenheuvel fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Arjen Witters couldn't finish the play. Gerald Stroeve took the ball and in the 89 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Bernard Craandijk. Bernard Craandijk dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-3. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Gasthuis had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
