The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 4th minute Ernst Wesseling shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Steen Müür saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. José Paulo Passos hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. De hijgende Hertjes's Steen Müür played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Per-Erik Ekeroth in the 7th minute of play. De hijgende Hertjes's Sebastian Dulka got a good chance for a goal in the 8th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 10 minutes into the match, Kryspin Weyna had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Steen Müür. De hijgende Hertjes's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Kryspin Weyna was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Sebastian Dulka received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Sören Bachmeier tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in De hijgende Hertjes's zone, Kryspin Weyna stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Steen Müür came out of the goal and Kryspin Weyna tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ernst Wesseling in the 19th minute of play forced De hijgende Hertjes's goalkeeper Steen Müür to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 22 minutes, Kryspin Weyna managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Houtendoel's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kryspin Weyna was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 25 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for De hijgende Hertjes! 32 minutes into the game, Houtendoel's Kryspin Weyna nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Steen Müür made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. After 37 played minutes De hijgende Hertjes got a freekick which was hit by Ronny Koole. In the 49th match minute, Houtendoel was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Henk Bogarde to maneuver through the defense. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

Steen Müür showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Per-Erik Ekeroth, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. 55 minutes into the game, Kryspin Weyna cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-4. Steen Müür was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Ernst Wesseling received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Steen Müür tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mick Jagger charged in rather forcefully in the 68th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Mick Jagger the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 68th match minute, De hijgende Hertjes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mick Jagger to maneuver through the defense. If Isac Dichiseanu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The supporters of Houtendoel booed when De hijgende Hertjes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Benny Škriniar didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Kryspin Weyna had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. A collision led to De hijgende Hertjes getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Mick Jagger hit a great ball. Steen Müür acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 75th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Alfred Luikens. Steen Müür showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Per-Erik Ekeroth, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. In the 85th minute, Mick Jagger hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Steen Müür didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Kryspin Weyna went, in the 90th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-6 was the resulting score. A collision led to Houtendoel getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Alfred Luikens hit a great ball. The Houtendoel players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
