Marfa's Malcolm Trevisan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vince Stagno in the 33rd minute of play. 35 minutes into the game, Tony England was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Senglea's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Marfa the free kick. After a rather tough play, Senglea's Tony England got a free kick in the 36th minute. The supporters of Marfa booed when Senglea was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Andrea Buhaġiar didn't get a good kick on the ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ashley Felice to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute Marfa were awarded a corner. Mattia Rossignaud went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Marfa's Mattia Rossignaud to fire away a dangerous shot which Vincent Ebejer despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. A collision led to Senglea getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Istivan Cilia hit a great ball. When Marfa's Ashley Felice in the 60th minute got a chance for a shot 60th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Senglea's goalie prevented a goal. Malcolm Trevisan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vince Stagno, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. In the 77th minute, Ashley Felice got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ashley Felice received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Vincent Ebejer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 83 played minutes Marfa got a freekick which was hit by Jacob Lateo. The audience was convinced that Vince Stagno's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Malcolm Trevisan was relentless in the 84th minute of the game.
