Spectators: 37 (Terracing: 29, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Herbert Balzan started the match with the kick off. Andrè Spiteri made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from George Cristina in the 7th minute of play. Terence Duca sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Herbert Balzan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Terence Duca fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dennis Bigeni having to interfere. The supporters of Siġġiewi booed when Rabat Ajax F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joe Darmanin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Herbert Balzan scored 0-1 in the 25th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Dennis Bigeni, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a rather tough play, Rabat Ajax F.C.'s Jacob Psaila got a free kick in the 28th minute. Herbert Balzan hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. In the 35th minute of the match, Harry Buttigieg got a very nice opportunity to score, but Andrè Spiteri was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. After a defensive mix-up in Rabat Ajax F.C.'s zone, Terence Duca stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dennis Bigeni came out of the goal and Terence Duca tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Andrè Spiteri took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from George Cristina, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Herbert Balzan blasted a shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Dennis Bigeni having to make a save. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

Darren Bray hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. Harry Buttigieg fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andrè Spiteri having to interfere. In the 56thth minute of the game George Cristina who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Siġġiewi's Andrè Spiteri was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Harry Buttigieg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A very good chance. 64 minutes into the match, Siġġiewi's goal looked a bit too open when George Cristina came free, but Andrè Spiteri reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dennis Bigeni made a fantastic save in the 66th minute, when Gerard Privitelli sent off a good shot on target. Dennis Bigeni acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 69th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Edmond Refalo. Terence Duca sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Terence Duca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 76 minutes into the match, George Cristina had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Andrè Spiteri. Siġġiewi's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that George Cristina was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Andrè Spiteri showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Harry Buttigieg in the 82nd minute of the match. After having played for 84 minutes, Terence Duca managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Siġġiewi's supporters crossed their fingers, but Terence Duca was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Dennis Bigeni took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Herbert Balzan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
