The supporters of Qala Athletics booed when Ta Xbiex United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Richard Ambinette didn't get a good kick on the ball. Malcolm Micallef Enyaud fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fiobian Magri having to interfere. Gregory Privitelli made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gavin Mangion in the 18th minute. Malcolm Micallef Enyaud took the ball and in the 20 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Fiobian Magri. Fiobian Magri dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 28th minute, Martin Tanti managed to get in a good position for a shot. Qala Athletics's supporters rose to their feet, but Martin Tanti was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fiobian Magri breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 30th minute Charles Wizzini shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gregory Privitelli saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Martin Tanti fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fiobian Magri having to interfere. Fiobian Magri stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Malcolm Micallef Enyaud's shot from short distance in the 33rd minute. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Malcolm Micallef Enyaud stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Charles Wizzini's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gregory Privitelli read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 53rd minute of play. In the 67th minute, Steve Bajo had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. Gerard Satariano's late challenge caught a Qala Athletics's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ta Xbiex United's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Qala Athletics the free kick. David Seracino Inglott's late challenge caught a Ta Xbiex United's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card.
