Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Martin Armenia took the kick off in the first half of the match. After a rather tough play, Victoria's Tyron Clews got a free kick in the 2nd minute. If Nathaniel Girard had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Martin Armenia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Claudio Mifsud showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Bondin, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. After 12 played minutes Victoria got a freekick which was hit by Andrew Papagiorcopulo. After some careless play in the Victoria defense, Karl Cortis kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Claudio Mifsud. The Victoria fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Claudio Mifsud should have stopped the shot. Karl Cortis kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. A hard shot 21 in the game by Nathaniel Girard from a close distance when the talented Martin Dougall managed to make a qualified save. Cottonera Corinthians's players were relieved. When Nathaniel Girard came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the Victoria fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nathaniel Girard couldn't finish the play. 25 minutes into the game, Tommy Schembri Zerafa was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cottonera Corinthians's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Victoria the free kick. Tommy Schembri Zerafa hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 30th minute, Martin Armenia managed to get in a good position for a shot. Victoria's supporters rose to their feet, but Martin Armenia was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Martin Dougall breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Victoria booed when Cottonera Corinthians was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Karl Cortis didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cottonera Corinthians's Martin Dougall proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 35th minute of the match, managed to save Cottonera Corinthians from getting a goal against them. Daniel Bondin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Claudio Mifsud tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half Cottonera Corinthians were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Daniel Bondin made a kick off. 51 minutes into the match, Nathaniel Girard notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Cottonera Corinthians's Martin Dougall. Martin Dougall was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Stephan Sant Manduca received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Claudio Mifsud tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 58th minute, Daniel Bondin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Cottonera Corinthians's Martin Dougall played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nathaniel Girard in the 60th minute of play. Martin Dougall made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nathaniel Girard in the 67th minute of play. Martin Armenia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Steve Demicoli fell near the penalty area in the 71st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cottonera Corinthians's protests and gave Steve Demicoli a yellow card for diving instead. 71 minutes into the game, one of Cottonera Corinthians:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Martin Armenia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Martin Dougall tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 80 minutes, Daniel Bondin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cottonera Corinthians's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Bondin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 81 played minutes Victoria got a freekick which was hit by Francis Busuttil. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Bondin in the 85th minute of play forced Victoria's goalkeeper Claudio Mifsud to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Cottonera Corinthians getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Giuseppe Rolè hit a great ball. Owen Lauri kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. Claudio Mifsud showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Bondin, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. 97 minutes into the match, Nathaniel Girard had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Martin Dougall. Cottonera Corinthians's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Nathaniel Girard was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. Victoria's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
