Frederick Gruppetta tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Frederick Gruppetta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nikolai Mercieca in the 16th minute of play. 18 minutes into the match, Għaxaq St Paul's Nikolai Mercieca sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Frederick Gruppetta narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Glenn Vella Bonavita hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. Nikolai Mercieca struck a weak shot in the 23rd minute. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Nikolai Mercieca made a kick off. 54 minutes into the game, Għaxaq St Paul's Nikolai Mercieca nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Marsascala Tornadoes's Frederick Gruppetta proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to save Marsascala Tornadoes from getting a goal against them. An unexpected shot in the 77th minute by James Harmsworth got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. After a defensive mix-up in Għaxaq St Paul's zone, Jayden Samut Tagliaferro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Clayvon Gatt came out of the goal and Jayden Samut Tagliaferro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Luciano Polidano kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. Clayvon Gatt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jayden Samut Tagliaferro in the 83rd minute of the match. 88 minutes into the match, Marsascala Tornadoes's goalkeeper Frederick Gruppetta had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by James Harmsworth. In the 95th minute the ball was on its way in behind Marsascala Tornadoes's goalkeeper Frederick Gruppetta, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Għaxaq St Paul walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
