Spectators: 39 (Terracing: 30, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Tyrone Assenso took the kick off in the first half of the match. Luxol's Andrew Cacciottolo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Karl Busietta in the 5th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Karl Busietta in the 6th minute of play forced Luxol's goalkeeper Andrew Cacciottolo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 11th minute, Alan Lauri hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Karl Busietta recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 17th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Karl Busietta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 27th minute, Kelinu Young managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mellieħa's supporters rose to their feet, but Kelinu Young was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Andrew Cacciottolo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience was convinced that Paul D'Amico's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Richard Papagiorcopulo was relentless in the 31st minute of the game. Tyrone Assenso scored 1-1 in the 33rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Richard Papagiorcopulo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carmel Marmara in the 37th minute of play forced Mellieħa's goalkeeper Richard Papagiorcopulo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Richard Papagiorcopulo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tyrone Assenso, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. Paul D'Amico sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Richard Papagiorcopulo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tyrone Assenso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In a very dangerous position, a player in Mellieħa fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 45th minute. Penalty!

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Kelinu Young stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Kelinu Young had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Karl Spagnol in the 56th minute of play forced Luxol's goalkeeper Andrew Cacciottolo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Paul D'Amico in the 61stth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Richard Papagiorcopulo, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Andrew Cacciottolo came out of the goal in the 67th minute to try and stop a shot by Mellieħa's Kelinu Young. But to his dismay, Kelinu Young quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. After a defensive mix-up in Luxol's zone, Kelinu Young stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Andrew Cacciottolo came out of the goal and Kelinu Young tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 73 minutes into the game, Karl Busietta was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Mellieħa's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Luxol the free kick. In the 73rd minute, Karl Busietta hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luxol's attack was well implemented in the 78th minute, but when Tyrone Assenso was about to shoot he didn't get a good hit on the ball and it hit the crossbar and flew over. Goal Kick. Mellieħa's Richard Papagiorcopulo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 81st minute of the match, managed to save Mellieħa from getting a goal against them. Paul D'Amico kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. After 86 played minutes Mellieħa got a freekick which was hit by Neville Almerigo. Luxol's Tyrone Assenso got a good chance for a goal in the 88th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A hard shot 90 in the game by Paul D'Amico from a close distance when the talented Richard Papagiorcopulo managed to make a qualified save. Mellieħa's players were relieved. Andrew Cacciottolo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kelinu Young in the 93rd minute of the match. When Paul D'Amico came up free with the goalie in the 96th minute, the Luxol fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Paul D'Amico couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Mellieħa getting a freekick after 97 minutes play. Clayvon Giordano hit a great ball. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
