After having played for 3 minutes, Ben Lia managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Marsa FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ben Lia was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 4th minute, Jake Montebello got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Matthew Carabott got free with Godwin Mumford in the 7th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ben Lia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Godwin Mumford having to interfere. Marsa FC's Ben Lia pulled a muscle in his back after 13 minutes and couldn't finish the game. After 13 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Yolo AFC! The referee gave Marsa FC a penalty, 16 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Patrick Zammit, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Yolo AFC's Godwin Mumford. 1-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Patrick Zammit got free with Godwin Mumford in the 19th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 23rd minute Frederick Cini shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tim Dimech saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 25 played minutes Yolo AFC got a freekick which was hit by Bjorn Demicoli. In the 26th minute of the game, Alex Vella landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. Owen Mifsud's late challenge caught a Yolo AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Owen Mifsud helped the player get up and apologised. In a very dangerous position, a player in Yolo AFC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 30th minute. Penalty! In the 31st minute of the game, Marsa FC got a penalty. The shot went straight in by the left post. Bjorn Pace Bonello hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. Marc Sciberras charged in rather forcefully in the 37th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Marc Sciberras the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Marc Sciberras kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. Keith Xuereb hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. Frederick Cini sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Patrick Zammit fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Godwin Mumford having to interfere. Godwin Mumford was a little too slow when Patrick Zammit got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 47th minute. The score was now 3-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

Keith Xuereb hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Marsa FC's Keith Xuereb got a free kick in the 57th minute. Frederick Cini's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tim Dimech read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 59th minute of play. Tim Dimech made an important save on a dangerous shot by Frederick Cini in the 64th minute. After some careless play in the Yolo AFC defense, Patrick Zammit kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Godwin Mumford. The Yolo AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Godwin Mumford should have stopped the shot. After having played for 78 minutes, Jake Montebello managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Marsa FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jake Montebello was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Frederick Cini had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 82nd minute, Patrick Zammit made a precise shot to the right of Godwin Mumford. Yolo AFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 6-0. Patrick Zammit charged in rather forcefully in the 92nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Patrick Zammit the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Patrick Zammit kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. Godwin Mumford took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Patrick Zammit, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
