Joakim Naceski who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 20thth minute tested the skills of Rade Danailov when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Stevan Milenkov kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. Bogdan Deljanovski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ergin Sadiku, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ognjeslav Cuculoski made a kick off. Rade Danailov took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ognjeslav Cuculoski, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Božin Caneski recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Rade Danailov made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ognjeslav Cuculoski in the 66th minute of play. Joakim Naceski received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Rade Danailov tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Niže Pole Rabotnički booed when Manchester City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bergin Ivanoski didn't get a good kick on the ball. Manchester City's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
