Miša Bošnjaku was out of position in the 11 minute of play, and Dime Karatašev capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Dime Karatašev really showed his touch with that goal: 2-1. Mihajlo Georgiev sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 17th minute Mihajlo Georgiev shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gazmend Ismaili saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Srečko Spasev's shot from long distance in the 25th minute was not bad at all, but FC Lyon's Miša Bošnjaku knew what was happening and pushed the ball into his arms just before it hit the right post. The supporters of FC Lyon booed when Banište Pobeda was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cvetan Zdravev didn't get a good kick on the ball. Antonio Nuhiji could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 42nd minute of the match, but Miša Bošnjaku made a huge save. Banište Pobeda's Dime Karatašev got a good chance for a goal in the 46th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Teofil Taleski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 2-2 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Mihajlo Georgiev was the one to do the kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Vegim Simonovski during the 53rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 53 played minutes FC Lyon got a freekick which was hit by Vegim Simonovski. In the 57th match minute, FC Lyon was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Antonio Kitanovski to maneuver through the defense. Zdravko Nastevski sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 69th minute, Teofil Taleski managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Lyon's supporters rose to their feet, but Teofil Taleski was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gazmend Ismaili breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. But to his dismay, Dime Karatašev quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-2. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cvetan Zdravev during the 84th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Banište Pobeda getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Cvetan Zdravev hit a great ball. Teofil Taleski fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gazmend Ismaili having to interfere. In the 94thth minute of the game Dime Karatašev who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC Lyon's Miša Bošnjaku was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Dime Karatašev fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Miša Bošnjaku having to interfere. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Banište Pobeda fans cheered their team off the field, for while FC Lyon had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
