Arsenij Cvetkovski fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Žarko Radomski having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Manchester United's zone, Leontie Bojkovič stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mihajlo Nakov came out of the goal and Leontie Bojkovič tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 42 played minutes, Lopatica's Svetislav Karamarkovič shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Mihajlo Nakov came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Lopatica reached it. Žarko Radomski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ilir Aliu, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. Ardi Ickovski charged in rather forcefully in the 45th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ardi Ickovski the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Manchester United booed when Lopatica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Deljan Siljanovski didn't get a good kick on the ball. 50 minutes into the match, Lopatica's goal looked a bit too open when Arsenij Cvetkovski came free, but Žarko Radomski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

In the 82nd minute, Ilir Aliu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Mihajlo Nakov made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leontie Bojkovič in the 86th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Veljko Solunčevski during the 87th minute.
