The supporters of Gevgelija Napredok booed when Brodec was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Stanko Kostadinov didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vasko Danailovski blasted a shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Borče Jakovlevski having to make a save. After 16 minutes, Alekso Miladinov mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gevgelija Napredok and the Brodec players grew even worse after the yellow card. Alekso Miladinov kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. With an all-out effort, Brodec's Naim Trajanov threw himself towards the right post 17 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Božin Pavleski, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Božin Pavleski struck a weak shot in the 18th minute. Naim Trajanov didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Brodec. Vasko Danailovski sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Milo Sekulovski came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the Gevgelija Napredok fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Milo Sekulovski couldn't finish the play. Gevgelija Napredok's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Faton Grozdanovski was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. The crowd rose to their feet as Brodec's Božin Pavleski slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Naim Trajanov. That made the score 2-1 after 47 minutes of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Božin Pavleski to make the kick off. Božin Pavleski fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Naim Trajanov having to interfere. Borče Jakovlevski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Milko Ordanov, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. Teodor Cvetanoski lost his temper 60 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In the 60th minute, one of Gevgelija Napredok:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Gevgelija Napredok. If Faton Grozdanovski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 73 minutes into the match, Gevgelija Napredok's goal looked a bit too open when Božin Pavleski came free, but Naim Trajanov reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dule Pandev hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. In the 78th minute of the match Zlatko Ilievski shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Naim Trajanov showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Brodec's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
