Spectators: 38 (Terracing: 29, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Purbrook United's Rodney Warburton played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Freddie Glöckner in the 3rd minute of play. After 5 minutes of play, FC Marisca Mersch's Freddie Glöckner made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rodney Warburton was left in no man's land by his defense there! The FC Marisca Mersch fans' excitement grew in the 14th match minute when FC Marisca Mersch's Oswald Steffen looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 17th minute Romeo Wagstaff shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jean-Claude Bruckert saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 19th minute, Freddie Glöckner left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FC Marisca Mersch fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. Lars Auerswald received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Rodney Warburton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Matty zu Castell-Rüdenhausen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 27 minutes, Kevin Hutchinson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Purbrook United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kevin Hutchinson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. FC Marisca Mersch's Bob Wilhelm got a good chance for a goal in the 29th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Oswald Steffen scored 0-4 in the 30th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Rodney Warburton, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 37 minutes into the match, FC Marisca Mersch's Lars Auerswald sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rodney Warburton narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Matty zu Castell-Rüdenhausen might have been able to make a better finish in the 38th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rodney Warburton. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Matty zu Castell-Rüdenhausen ran back to his position shaking his head. Kevin Hutchinson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 44th minute of the match, but Jean-Claude Bruckert made a huge save. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-4.

After a rather tough play, Purbrook United's Samuel Foster got a free kick in the 52nd minute. Lars Auerswald sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 62nd minute Kevin Hutchinson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jean-Claude Bruckert saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Freddie Glöckner sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Oswald Steffen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rodney Warburton having to interfere. 65 minutes into the game, Freddie Glöckner cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-5. Rodney Warburton was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 69th match minute, FC Marisca Mersch was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Oswald Steffen to maneuver through the defense. In the 70th minute of the match Michael Medlin shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jean-Claude Bruckert showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 71st minute, FC Marisca Mersch's Freddie Glöckner ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Rodney Warburton. Rodney Warburton yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-6. Freddie Glöckner fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rodney Warburton having to interfere. 77 minutes into the match, Purbrook United's goal looked a bit too open when Oswald Steffen came free, but Rodney Warburton reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Freddie Glöckner received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Rodney Warburton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Purbrook United's Rodney Warburton got control of the ball when Oswald Steffen tried to sneak it across the goal line. 85 minutes into the match, Oswald Steffen had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rodney Warburton. Purbrook United's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Oswald Steffen was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-7. FC Marisca Mersch's Freddie Glöckner got a good chance for a goal in the 88th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 91st minute, FC Marisca Mersch's Matty zu Castell-Rüdenhausen dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-8. Bob Wilhelm's late challenge caught a Purbrook United's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bob Wilhelm helped the player get up and apologised. In the 95th minute, Bob Wilhelm hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 97 minutes into the game, Purbrook United's Tim Wall nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jean-Claude Bruckert made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-8. When the final whistle sounded FC Marisca Mersch left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Purbrook United.
