Gerry Bäcker spun around in front of the goal 4 minutes in the game and got away a good shot, but Edmund Frantz grabbed the ball before it went up in top right corner. Jean-Claude Braun made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from William Bach in the 7th minute of play. Jean-Claude Braun didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from William Bach went, in the 8th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. In the 23rd minute of the match Покоряя Лев got a corner. Halstead's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Bernd Weiss ran over to the corner to take the kick. Halstead's Gerry Bäcker got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The Покоряя Лев fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Edmund Frantz should have stopped the shot. Edmund Frantz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Andre Eckstein in the 77th minute of the match. When Gerry Bäcker came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the Halstead fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gerry Bäcker couldn't finish the play. Halstead's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
