Spectators: 37 (Terracing: 29, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Ernie Frantz started the match with the kick off. If Ernie Frantz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet as Ernie Frantz kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Tristan Fleischhacker. That made the score 1-0 in the 5 minute of play. In the 8th minute, Leon Bartsch hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 8th minute of the match Tim Graas shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ted Brandebourg showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Fredrik Trausch struck a weak shot in the 10th minute. Ted Brandebourg didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Preston. Ted Brandebourg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Moritz Hansen, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. In the 18th minute Fredrik Trausch shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ted Brandebourg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fredrik Trausch received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Ted Brandebourg tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Laurent Hundhammer hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ernie Frantz in the 29th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tristan Fleischhacker prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Preston's Moritz Hansen got a good chance for a goal in the 31st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ted Brandebourg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fredrik Trausch, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alex Pelletier sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Ernie Frantz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

A collision led to Echternach Esch FC getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Leon Bartsch hit a great ball. Tim Graas, 55 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. If Alex Pelletier had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ted Brandebourg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fredrik Trausch in the 62nd minute of play. Alex Pelletier struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Tristan Fleischhacker didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Echternach Esch FC. 67 minutes into the game, Alex Pelletier cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Tristan Fleischhacker was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Preston's Markus Gessler got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ted Brandebourg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fredrik Trausch in the 77th minute of play. With his leg Ted Brandebourg managed to avoid a goal in the 81stth minute, when Preston's Moritz Hansen fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. If Markus Gessler had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fredrik Trausch in the 90th minute of play forced Echternach Esch FC's goalkeeper Ted Brandebourg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Preston's zone, Ernie Frantz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tristan Fleischhacker came out of the goal and Ernie Frantz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
