In the 16th minute, Dietrich Weber ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Kris Thorne was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Joe Harris's late challenge caught a FC AAC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Joe Harris helped the player get up and apologised. In the 19th minute, Joe Harris hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dietrich Weber received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Kris Thorne tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Franz Rhodes stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52ndth minute of the game Franz Rhodes who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC AAC's Jacob Schmitz was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 59 minutes, Raphaël Tudor mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC AAC and the Wigston City players grew even worse after the yellow card. Jacob Schmitz didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 61st minute, which inside left pole to 1-2. Lothar Horowitz hit a great ball. The Wigston City supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Wigston City would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
