If Vincent Ackroyd had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a rather tough play, Bromsgrove City's Austin Culverhouse got a free kick in the 11th minute. In the 12th minute of the match Jermaine Clarke sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Rodd Langley skillfully saved the ball. In the 13th minute, Vincent Ackroyd made a precise shot to the right of Rodd Langley. Bromsgrove City's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. After having played for 19 minutes, Darren Cusack managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sefton's supporters crossed their fingers, but Darren Cusack was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Rufus Blacknell had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 24th minute, Jay Darby made a precise shot to the right of Martin Hibbert. Sefton's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. After 27 played minutes Sefton got a freekick which was hit by Warren Ramsden. 35 minutes into the match, Darren Cusack had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rodd Langley. Bromsgrove City's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Darren Cusack was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. 39 minutes into the match, Bromsgrove City's goal looked a bit too open when Vincent Ackroyd came free, but Rodd Langley reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Darren Cusack sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Vincent Ackroyd to strike the kick off in the second half. Vincent Ackroyd recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 51st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Darren Cusack had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Austin Culverhouse's late challenge caught a Sefton's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Austin Culverhouse helped the player get up and apologised. 55 minutes into the match, Bromsgrove City's goalkeeper Rodd Langley had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Darren Cusack. The supporters of Sefton booed when Bromsgrove City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Keanu Chiverton didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jay Darby sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 64 minutes into the match, Sefton's goal looked a bit too open when Jay Darby came free, but Martin Hibbert reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Johnnie Beresford kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. Darren Cusack fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rodd Langley having to interfere. After 72 played minutes Bromsgrove City got a freekick which was hit by Austin Culverhouse. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Vincent Ackroyd in the 75th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rodd Langley saved Bromsgrove City from getting behind. In the 77th minute Jay Darby shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Martin Hibbert saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vincent Ackroyd fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rodd Langley having to interfere. 86 minutes into the match, Bromsgrove City's goalkeeper Rodd Langley had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Vincent Ackroyd. After a rather tough play, Bromsgrove City's Keanu Chiverton got a free kick in the 87th minute. In the 94th minute, Bromsgrove City's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Darren Cusack fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Sefton eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
