To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Leek's Marlon Kerr got a free kick in the 14th minute. After 15 played minutes Leek got a freekick which was hit by Ronnie Case. Next generation football's Edmund von Ancken got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Christian Hantzsch showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bart Durrant, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. Frankie Beermann sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some careless play in the Next generation football defense, Bart Durrant kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Christian Hantzsch. The Next generation football fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Christian Hantzsch should have stopped the shot. Fred Peakman took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Frankie Beermann, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
