Spectators: 39 (Terracing: 30, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Sid Flintoff started the match with the kick off. Daryl Bradfield made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sid Flintoff in the 8th minute of play. Rod Chivers struck a weak shot in the 10th minute. Daryl Bradfield didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Englefield Green. Bobby Tindale's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 11thth minute, Ronnie Holdsworth skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Sid Flintoff received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Daryl Bradfield tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Pierre Dowrick hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. 18 minutes into the match, Twickenham's Bobby Tindale sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ronnie Holdsworth narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 19 minutes into the game, Fred Jepson recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Ronnie Holdsworth. Fred Jepson showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. After 24 played minutes, Englefield Green's Malcolm England shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Daryl Bradfield came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Englefield Green reached it. Rod Chivers sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fred Jepson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Ronnie Holdsworth tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, Rod Chivers managed to get in a good position for a shot. Englefield Green's supporters rose to their feet, but Rod Chivers was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Daryl Bradfield breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Sid Flintoff came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the Englefield Green fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sid Flintoff couldn't finish the play. Fred Jepson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Ronnie Holdsworth tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bobby Tindale came free with the goalkeeper in the 44th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Ronnie Holdsworth could save by the left post. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Bobby Tindale sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fred Jepson blasted a shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ronnie Holdsworth having to make a save. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Shane Champion during the 58th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 58 played minutes Englefield Green got a freekick which was hit by Shane Champion. In the 59th minute of the match Glyn Welsh sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ronnie Holdsworth skillfully saved the ball. Fred Jepson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ronnie Holdsworth having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Pierre Dowrick during the 64th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 64 played minutes Twickenham got a freekick which was hit by Pierre Dowrick. In the 67th minute, Rod Chivers got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Sid Flintoff's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Daryl Bradfield read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 69th minute of play. If Sid Flintoff had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Twickenham's Daryl Bradfield got control of the ball when Rod Chivers tried to sneak it across the goal line. After having played for 86 minutes, Rod Chivers managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Englefield Green's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rod Chivers was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a little luck, Twickenham's Daryl Bradfield got control of the ball when Rod Chivers tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Fred Jepson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 95th match minute, Englefield Green was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mick Ainsworth to maneuver through the defense. After 96 minutes of play, Twickenham's Bobby Tindale made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ronnie Holdsworth was left in no man's land by his defense there! Twickenham's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
