The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 2nd minute, Jan Grünfeld hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Union Remich Bous getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Pol Backhaus showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adrian von Radowitz, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. 11 minutes into the match, Adrian von Radowitz had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Pol Backhaus. Sheepy Giants's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Adrian von Radowitz was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Pol Backhaus came out of the goal in the 16th minute to try and stop a shot by Union Remich Bous's Liam Baumgärtner. But to his dismay, Liam Baumgärtner quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Pol Backhaus showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Charlie Walch, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. In the 20thth minute of the game Adrian von Radowitz who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sheepy Giants's Pol Backhaus was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Liam Baumgärtner in the 21st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Pol Backhaus saved Sheepy Giants from getting behind. Ollie Helminger showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lutz Bäumler, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. Jacob Stoffel kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. With a little luck, Union Remich Bous's Ollie Helminger got control of the ball when Lenny Kampf tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lutz Bäumler in the 29th minute of play forced Union Remich Bous's goalkeeper Ollie Helminger to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Pol Backhaus showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 34th minute Adrian von Radowitz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pol Backhaus saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pol Backhaus took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adrian von Radowitz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Liam Baumgärtner received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Pol Backhaus tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Adrian von Radowitz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Adrian von Radowitz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pol Backhaus showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adrian von Radowitz in the 44th minute of the match. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Dietrich Redoute was the one to do the kick off. Charles Wolf's late challenge caught a Sheepy Giants's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Charles Wolf helped the player get up and apologised. In the 51st minute, Charles Wolf hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With his leg Pol Backhaus managed to avoid a goal in the 55thth minute, when Union Remich Bous's Liam Baumgärtner fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Liam Baumgärtner blasted a shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Pol Backhaus having to make a save. If Lutz Bäumler had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dietrich Redoute in the 73rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ollie Helminger prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 74th minute Adrian von Radowitz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pol Backhaus saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Through an outstanding action, after 76 minutes, Pol Backhaus successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. The crowd rose to their feet as Union Remich Bous's Adrian von Radowitz slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Pol Backhaus. That made the score 1-3 after 79 minutes of play. 88 minutes into the match, Sheepy Giants's goal looked a bit too open when Giles Schumann came free, but Pol Backhaus reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 89 minutes, Dietrich Redoute managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sheepy Giants's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dietrich Redoute was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ollie Helminger showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dietrich Redoute, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Sheepy Giants reached it. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Union Remich Bous walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
