RedBoys Lëtzebuerg's Philip Pröll played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jon Bayne in the 24th minute of play. A hard shot 25 in the game by Jean-Claude von Ancken from a close distance when the talented Casey Lonsdale managed to make a qualified save. Fairfield's players were relieved. Casey Lonsdale made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Silvester Auerswald in the 42nd minute of play. 43 minutes into the game, Jean-Claude von Ancken was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. RedBoys Lëtzebuerg's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Fairfield the free kick. The supporters of Fairfield booed when RedBoys Lëtzebuerg was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jean-Claude von Ancken didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Silvester Auerswald managed to get in a good position for a shot. RedBoys Lëtzebuerg's supporters rose to their feet, but Silvester Auerswald was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Casey Lonsdale breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kurt Hart in the 47th minute of play forced RedBoys Lëtzebuerg's goalkeeper Philip Pröll to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

With 53 minutes on the clock, Rio Lilley commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Fairfield fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 53rd minute. Penalty! Casey Lonsdale showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jean-Claude von Ancken, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. Claude Weiß hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. Fairfield's Casey Lonsdale played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Silvester Auerswald in the 66th minute of play. When the match clock showed 70 minutes, the score became 3-0 when Jean-Claude von Ancken sped through Fairfield's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Casey Lonsdale. In the 73rd minute Jean-Claude von Ancken shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Casey Lonsdale saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 74th minute, Vern Turner hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 75th minute of the match Gerry Krier shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Casey Lonsdale showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Jean-Claude von Ancken took the ball and in the 77 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Casey Lonsdale. Casey Lonsdale dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-0. If Jean-Claude von Ancken had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Jean-Claude von Ancken came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the RedBoys Lëtzebuerg fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jean-Claude von Ancken couldn't finish the play. In the 88th match minute, RedBoys Lëtzebuerg was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jean-Claude von Ancken to maneuver through the defense. Silvester Auerswald fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Casey Lonsdale having to interfere. Casey Lonsdale made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jean-Claude von Ancken in the 92nd minute of play. RedBoys Lëtzebuerg walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
