Welling's Philip Federici played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Veit Boss in the 3rd minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Olivier Schürch got free with Lennart Lagnaz in the 7th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Veit Boss's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Philip Federici read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 10th minute of play. In the 28th minute, Kuno Betz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Veit Boss received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Philip Federici tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Beltran Süber during the 31st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Welling booed when Copford was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Beltran Süber didn't get a good kick on the ball. The corner was taken by Lionel Baraglia in the 43rd minute. Copford's Lionel Baraglia was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Philip Federici in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Philip Federici took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vinzenz Hurni, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
The wind increased when Jendrick Junod made the kick off in the second half. Vinzenz Hurni fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Philip Federici having to interfere. Copford's Veit Boss got a good chance for a goal in the 55th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 64th minute Jendrick Junod shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lennart Lagnaz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 66th minute, Veit Boss got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jendrick Junod struck a weak shot in the 71st minute. Lennart Lagnaz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Welling. In the 75thth minute of the game Vinzenz Hurni who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Welling's Philip Federici was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Silvius Zinniker kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Welling's zone, Veit Boss stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Philip Federici came out of the goal and Veit Boss tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Philip Federici made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vinzenz Hurni in the 84th minute of play. In the 86th match minute, Welling was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leo Freuler to maneuver through the defense. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Philipp Koller during the 90th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
