Jeff Lipp charged in rather forcefully in the 2nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jeff Lipp the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. When Rasul Müller came up free with the goalie in the 5th minute, the Elsdon fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rasul Müller couldn't finish the play. When Grimsby's Mathias Bonato in the 9th minute got a chance for a shot 9th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Elsdon's goalie prevented a goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sixt Simon got free with Gualtier Klein in the 12th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 14 minutes of play, Grimsby's Mathias Bonato made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Horace Mischler was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 20th minute Domingo Soltermann shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Horace Mischler saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 25th minute, Salvatore Heller hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gualtier Klein stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sixt Simon's shot from short distance in the 28th minute. In the 30thth minute of the game Rasul Müller who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Grimsby's Gualtier Klein was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 30 minutes, Jonah Steingher mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Grimsby and the Elsdon players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Elsdon booed when Grimsby was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jonah Steingher didn't get a good kick on the ball. Horace Mischler made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Domingo Soltermann in the 34th minute of play. Domingo Soltermann received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Horace Mischler tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mathias Bonato fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Horace Mischler having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

If Sixt Simon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 58th match minute, Grimsby was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jonah Steingher to maneuver through the defense. When the match had gone on for 71 minutes, Rasul Müller put it in 2-1 from a short distance just to the right of Gualtier Klein. Domingo Soltermann who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 75thth minute tested the skills of Horace Mischler when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Gualtier Klein took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rasul Müller, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 84 minutes into the match, Grimsby's Mathias Bonato sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Horace Mischler narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Elsdon's defense didn't have a chance, in the 86th minute, when Mathias Bonato scored to the left of an out of position Horace Mischler, making the score, 2-2. After a defensive mix-up in Elsdon's zone, Mathias Bonato stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Horace Mischler came out of the goal and Mathias Bonato tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 94 minutes into the match, Elsdon's Rasul Müller sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gualtier Klein narrowly saved just below the crossbar. During the 95th minute of the match Jeff Lipp completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Jeff Lipp a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After 96 played minutes Grimsby got a freekick which was hit by Jeff Lipp. The Grimsby players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Elsdon from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
