The coaching staff of Bresso protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Enzo Tomei had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 40th minute, one of Bresso:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Bresso. The referee gave Cacciola a penalty, 43 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Beppe Tonon, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Bresso's Ennio Di Mario. 0-1. Ennio Di Mario showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alvise Guerra in the 47th minute of the match.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Alvise Guerra to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute of the match, Daniele Vanni got a very nice opportunity to score, but Ennio Di Mario was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 83rd minute, Alvise Guerra fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Ennio Di Mario, passed just outside the right post. Alvise Guerra sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Alvise Guerra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fulvio Ranieri hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. Ennio Di Mario took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alvise Guerra, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Bresso supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Cacciola's performance. The match ended with a win for Cacciola.
