Legnano's Dennis Picca proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 3rd minute of the match, managed to save Legnano from getting a goal against them. In the 4th minute Filippo Campitelli shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dave Apolloni saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Paggi AFC's Dave Apolloni played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Filippo Campitelli in the 6th minute of play. Legnano's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Ferruccio Quattrocchi in the 8th minute. Legnano's Ferruccio Quattrocchi was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Dave Apolloni in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Filippo Campitelli received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Dave Apolloni tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 16 minutes into the match, Legnano's Franco Coccia sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dave Apolloni narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 19th minute, Francesco Forlano managed to get in a good position for a shot. Paggi AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Francesco Forlano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dennis Picca breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Legnano's zone, Francesco Forlano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dennis Picca came out of the goal and Francesco Forlano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Franco Coccia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Dave Apolloni tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Paggi AFC's Adriano Serantoni got a free kick in the 26th minute. Edmondo Fortuna's late challenge caught a Paggi AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Edmondo Fortuna helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Legnano's Edmondo Fortuna got a free kick in the 28th minute. Dennis Picca took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alfonso Corelli, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Filippo Campitelli fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dave Apolloni having to interfere. When Camillo Cavallaro fell near the penalty area in the 35th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Legnano's protests and gave Camillo Cavallaro a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Legnano getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Camillo Cavallaro hit a great ball. If Franco Coccia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Paggi AFC's Dave Apolloni played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Franco Coccia in the 47th minute of play. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Alfonso Corelli stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Legnano's Edmondo Fortuna got a free kick in the 51st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Francesco Forlano in the 52nd minute of play forced Legnano's goalkeeper Dennis Picca to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 54 minutes into the game, Francesco Forlano cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Dennis Picca was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a rather tough play, Paggi AFC's Aurelio Morandin got a free kick in the 56th minute. Franco Coccia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Dennis Picca showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alfonso Corelli, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. A collision led to Legnano getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Edmondo Fortuna hit a great ball. After recieving a nice pass, Paggi AFC's Fedele Zisser tried to score from far away in the 73rd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. 77 minutes into the match, Legnano's goal looked a bit too open when Alfonso Corelli came free, but Dennis Picca reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Francesco Forlano might have been able to make a better finish in the 81st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dennis Picca. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Francesco Forlano ran back to his position shaking his head. Alfonso Corelli scored 2-0 in the 82nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Dennis Picca, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Camillo Cavallaro hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. If Alfonso Corelli had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 93 minutes into the match, Adriano Serantoni had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dennis Picca. Legnano's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Adriano Serantoni was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. After a rather tough play, Paggi AFC's Antonio Lo Iacono got a free kick in the 96th minute. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Paggi AFC had won after a very even match.
