When Arrigo Pacella came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the Carpenedo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Arrigo Pacella couldn't finish the play. Arrigo Pacella fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Beppe Violento having to interfere. Fulvio Oriali received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Francesco Vasco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cosimo De Santis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Carpenedo's Anthony Santacroce got a free kick in the 62nd minute. Felice Pozzo was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 63rd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Francesco Vasco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cosimo De Santis in the 69th minute of play. Fulvio Oriali sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Aurelio Bucci fell near the penalty area in the 79th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Carpenedo's protests and gave Aurelio Bucci a yellow card for diving instead. After recieving a nice pass, Pilastro's Felice Pozzo tried to score from far away in the 80th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Pilastro's Cosimo De Santis got a good chance for a goal in the 82nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Carpenedo's Anthony Santacroce got a free kick in the 83rd minute. Francesco Vasco showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cosimo De Santis in the 87th minute of the match. 87 minutes into the game, Pilastro's Cosimo De Santis nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Francesco Vasco made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. In the 94th minute of the match Pilastro got a corner. Carpenedo's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Felice Pozzo ran over to the corner to take the kick. Fulvio Oriali might have been able to make a better finish in the 96th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Francesco Vasco. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Fulvio Oriali ran back to his position shaking his head. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Pilastro had won after a very even match.
