In the 3rd match minute, Conventello AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dino Basso to maneuver through the defense. In the 6th match minute, Grugno was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dave Forte to maneuver through the defense. 8 minutes into the match, Conventello AFC's Alvise Pietrantoni sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Concetto Sammartano narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Dino Guidone fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elia Salomone having to interfere. After 12 played minutes Conventello AFC got a freekick which was hit by Carlo Vitale. Elia Salomone took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dino Guidone, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fortunato Luongo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 19th minute of the match, but Concetto Sammartano made a huge save. In the 23rdth minute of the game Anselmo Loreto who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Conventello AFC's Elia Salomone was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 25th minute, Fortunato Luongo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Concetto Sammartano was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Fortunato Luongo in the 30thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Concetto Sammartano, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Alvise Pietrantoni managed to get in a good position for a shot. Conventello AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Alvise Pietrantoni was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Concetto Sammartano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Conventello AFC's Alvise Pietrantoni, in the 36th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Conventello AFC. After a defensive mix-up in Conventello AFC's zone, Anselmo Loreto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Elia Salomone came out of the goal and Anselmo Loreto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Fortunato Luongo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Dino Guidone was the one to do the kick off. After a rather tough play, Grugno's Andrea Laurenti got a free kick in the 55th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 56th minute, Alvise Pietrantoni managed to get in a good position for a shot. Conventello AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Alvise Pietrantoni was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Concetto Sammartano breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Dino Guidone had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 65th minute, Anselmo Loreto fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. After 71 played minutes Grugno got a freekick which was hit by Flavio Della Rocca. Anselmo Loreto hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. In the 87th minute of the game, Anselmo Loreto landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. After 87 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Conventello AFC! Concetto Sammartano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alvise Pietrantoni, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alessio Iovine hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. Fortunato Luongo might have been able to make a better finish in the 98th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Concetto Sammartano. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Fortunato Luongo ran back to his position shaking his head. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
