One of Rosso:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Carugo:s goal. In the 9th minute there was a penalty for Carugo. Ennio Mazzini stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Ciro Di Cintio. 1-0. After a defensive mix-up in Carugo's zone, Emanuele Ascoli stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alvise Vespucci came out of the goal and Emanuele Ascoli tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Emanuele Ascoli came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the Rosso fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Emanuele Ascoli couldn't finish the play. In the 19th minute Enrico Cancemi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ciro Di Cintio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 20th minute, Emanuele Ascoli managed to get in a good position for a shot. Rosso's supporters rose to their feet, but Emanuele Ascoli was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alvise Vespucci breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Diego Limitone got free with Alvise Vespucci in the 56th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Alexander Cerrone charged in rather forcefully in the 60th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Alexander Cerrone the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play.
