The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 2 played minutes Palestro AFC got a freekick which was hit by Donato Graziani. Fortunato Pagliuca made a fantastic save in the 5th minute, when Alvise Troiani sent off a good shot on target. In the 7th minute, Alessandro Di Giandomenico hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ernesto Aceto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Fortunato Pagliuca tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cristiano Croce made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alessandro Rosati in the 14th minute of play. Fortunato Pagliuca showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edmondo Rallo in the 20th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alessandro Rosati in the 25th minute of play forced Palestro AFC's goalkeeper Cristiano Croce to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Edmondo Rallo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Alvise Troiani had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 35th match minute, Bettenesco AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Florian Polito to maneuver through the defense. Edmondo Rallo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fortunato Pagliuca having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alessandro Rosati in the 43rd minute of play forced Palestro AFC's goalkeeper Cristiano Croce to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Palestro AFC's zone, Alessandro Rosati stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cristiano Croce came out of the goal and Alessandro Rosati tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Alessandro Di Giandomenico sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Alessandro Di Giandomenico was the one to do the kick off. Cristiano Croce showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alessandro Di Giandomenico, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. If Alessandro Di Giandomenico had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Palestro AFC getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Alexander Florio hit a great ball. Alessandro Di Giandomenico sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Alessandro Rosati received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Cristiano Croce tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 63rd minute, Alvise Troiani got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Bettenesco AFC's zone, Alvise Troiani stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fortunato Pagliuca came out of the goal and Alvise Troiani tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cristiano Croce was out of position in the 68 minute of play, and Alessandro Di Giandomenico capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Alessandro Di Giandomenico really showed his touch with that goal: 0-2. In the 75th minute Alvise Troiani shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fortunato Pagliuca saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 78 minutes, Alessandro Rosati managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bettenesco AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alessandro Rosati was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Fortunato Pagliuca showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edmondo Rallo, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. Palestro AFC's Edmondo Rallo got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The Palestro AFC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Bettenesco AFC's performance. The match ended with a win for Bettenesco AFC.
