In the 5th minute, one of Cerreto Alto AFC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Cerreto Alto AFC. In the 7th minute there was a penalty for Caluri. Alberto Palermo stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Alberto Gagliano. 0-1. Alvaro Porro scored 0-2 in the 10th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Alberto Gagliano, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Caluri's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Alberto Palermo in the 15th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fortunato Lusi in the 17th minute of play forced Caluri's goalkeeper Alfredo Limitone to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 18 minutes into the match, Fortunato Lusi dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Alfredo Limitone, 1-2. 22 minutes into the match, Caluri's goalkeeper Alfredo Limitone had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ferdinando Pennetta. 23 minutes into the match, Fortunato Lusi had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Alfredo Limitone. Caluri's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Fortunato Lusi was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. 28 minutes into the match, Caluri's goal looked a bit too open when Fortunato Lusi came free, but Alfredo Limitone reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Fortunato Lusi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Alberto Gagliano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alvaro Porro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Ferdinando Pennetta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 40th minute of the match, Ferdinando Pennetta got a very nice opportunity to score, but Alfredo Limitone was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 42nd minute, Alberto Palermo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Enzo Cristofari stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ferdinando Pennetta recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 60th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 64 minutes into the game, Ferruccio Ruggieri was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cerreto Alto AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Caluri the free kick. The supporters of Caluri booed when Cerreto Alto AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ferruccio Ruggieri didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 66th minute, Caluri's Alvaro Porro dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-3. Enzo Cristofari sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Alberto Gagliano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Enzo Cristofari, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. Ferdinando Pennetta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alfredo Limitone having to interfere. Caluri's Alfredo Limitone played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fortunato Lusi in the 81st minute of play. Ferdinando Pennetta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Alfredo Limitone tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ferdinando Pennetta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Fortunato Lusi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 91 minutes, Alfredo Novella mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Caluri and the Cerreto Alto AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 92nd minute, Fortunato Lusi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cerreto Alto AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Fortunato Lusi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alfredo Limitone breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
