An unexpectedly hard shot by Emanuele Munno in the 3rd minute of play forced Basovizza AFC's goalkeeper Flavio Mazzone to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Imperia FC's Enrico Melis got a free kick in the 6th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Fedele Camerlengo during the 9th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Imperia FC booed when Basovizza AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fedele Camerlengo didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Emanuele Munno had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Emanuele Munno in the 18th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Flavio Mazzone saved Basovizza AFC from getting behind. Dario Sarnelli fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Damiano Granato having to interfere. Imperia FC's Damiano Granato played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Demetrio Alleva in the 23rd minute of play. In the 28th minute, Imperia FC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Dario Sarnelli fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. After 30 minutes of play, Basovizza AFC's Dario Sarnelli made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Damiano Granato was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 34 played minutes Imperia FC got a freekick which was hit by Emanuele Munno. Antonello Nero hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. Alberto Mameli received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Flavio Mazzone tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Emanuele Munno's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Flavio Mazzone was relentless in the 43rd minute of the game. In the 45th match minute, Basovizza AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dave De Zorzi to maneuver through the defense. Damiano Granato was a little too slow when Demetrio Alleva got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 47th minute. The score was now 2-0. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Demetrio Alleva made the kick off in the second half. Demetrio Alleva received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Damiano Granato tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Basovizza AFC's Flavio Mazzone proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 58th minute of the match, managed to save Basovizza AFC from getting a goal against them. Comunardo Canzano's late challenge caught a Imperia FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Comunardo Canzano helped the player get up and apologised. Comunardo Canzano kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. Alberto Mameli could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 60th minute of the match, but Flavio Mazzone made a huge save. Fedele Camerlengo was shown his second yellow card after 61 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Fedele Camerlengo hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. Imperia FC's Emanuele Munno managed to work through Basovizza AFC's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Emanuele Munno dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. If Emanuele Munno had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Alberto Mameli had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 70 minutes into the match, Imperia FC's goal looked a bit too open when Dario Sarnelli came free, but Damiano Granato reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dario Sarnelli's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Damiano Granato read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 74th minute of play. Damiano Granato came out of the goal and Dario Sarnelli tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 91 played minutes Basovizza AFC got a freekick which was hit by Dave De Zorzi.
