Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Aldo Boccanera made the kick off and thus started the match. A collision led to Piangipane getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Emilio Ruggeri hit a great ball. Daniele Patricelli was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 4th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Corrado Di Berardino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Piangipane's Christian Di Federico got a free kick in the 27th minute. The supporters of Piangipane booed when Variney was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bianco Gambini didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Aldo Boccanera came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the Piangipane fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Aldo Boccanera couldn't finish the play. Piangipane's Fedele Cicchetti played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Filippo Gabriele in the 38th minute of play. 40 minutes into the match, Variney's goalkeeper Edoardo Marziali had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Corrado Di Berardino. Filippo Gabriele hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. If Corrado Di Berardino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Eraldo Colonna made the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Alessandro Bulla left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Variney fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. Aldo Boccanera fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edoardo Marziali having to interfere. After 74 played minutes Variney got a freekick which was hit by Amos Di Cristofaro. Ercole Buffone, 75 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Piangipane's Ercole Buffone couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Variney. Edoardo Marziali took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Corrado Di Berardino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Daniele Patricelli kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. Felice Addario charged in rather forcefully in the 91st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. After having played for 93 minutes, Alessandro Bulla managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Variney's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alessandro Bulla was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
