In the 16th minute, Franco Arcari got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Cagliari's Amerigo Ciccarelli got a free kick in the 22nd minute. In the 24th minute, Fabio Sciarra got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 32 minutes, Camillo Leopardi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cagliari's supporters crossed their fingers, but Camillo Leopardi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Andrea Tana took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alfredo Marchegiani, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cristiano Lepre recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Camillo Leopardi was the one to do the kick off. Cristiano Lepre's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Bernardo Tesone read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 52nd minute of play. After having played for 61 minutes, Cristiano Lepre managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Civiglio AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristiano Lepre was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Franco Arcari struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Andrea Tana didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cagliari. With a little luck, Civiglio AFC's Andrea Tana got control of the ball when Franco Arcari tried to sneak it across the goal line. Civiglio AFC's Andrea Tana played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Camillo Leopardi in the 78th minute of play. 81 minutes into the match, Civiglio AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Camillo Leopardi came free, but Andrea Tana reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Cagliari's zone, Cristiano Lepre stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 88 minutes into the match, Civiglio AFC's goalkeeper Andrea Tana had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Franco Arcari. Cristiano Lepre fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bernardo Tesone having to interfere. In the 93rd minute, Edmondo Di Bartolo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Civiglio AFC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
