Davide Addari made the kick off and thus started the match. Demetrio Lupi stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Davide Addari's shot from short distance in the 4th minute. Fabiano Scarinci's late challenge caught a Savonarola's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Fabiano Scarinci helped the player get up and apologised. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 15th minute of the game. One of Murano FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Savonarola:s goal. The referee gave Savonarola a penalty, 17 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Franco Pantani, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Murano FC's Demetrio Lupi. 0-1. In the 21st minute, Davide Addari got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Anfilogino Guadagnoli kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. If Davide Addari had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 25th match minute, Murano FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edoardo Marziali to maneuver through the defense. Armando Olmi's late challenge caught a Savonarola's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Armando Olmi helped the player get up and apologised. Franco Pantani was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 31st played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Demetrio Lupi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Davide Addari, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Ciccio Biancone came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Savonarola fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ciccio Biancone couldn't finish the play. Corrado Pani's late challenge caught a Murano FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Corrado Pani helped the player get up and apologised. In the 43rd minute, Corrado Pani hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Alvaro Ciccone fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fabio Valletta having to interfere. After the first half Savonarola were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Alvaro Ciccone to make the kick off. 53 minutes into the match, Savonarola's goal looked a bit too open when Amedeo Bani came free, but Fabio Valletta reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fabio Valletta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alvaro Ciccone, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Ciccio Biancone had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Savonarola booed when Murano FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Anfilogino Guadagnoli didn't get a good kick on the ball. 75 minutes into the match, Savonarola's Ciccio Biancone sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Demetrio Lupi narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Demetrio Lupi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dave Zangari in the 77th minute of the match. Ciccio Biancone blasted a shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Demetrio Lupi having to make a save. 81 minutes into the match, Savonarola's goal looked a bit too open when Alvaro Ciccone came free, but Fabio Valletta reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Savonarola's Corrado Pani got a free kick in the 83rd minute. 84 minutes in the game, the ball went up into the seats when Murano FC's Amedeo Bani fired away a shot that was just a little bit too high. He walked away shaking his head. Alvaro Ciccone sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Amedeo Bani had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Murano FC's Fabrizio Righi got a free kick in the 95th minute. After 98 minutes Murano FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Franco Pantani who took care of the corner kick. Savonarola's Franco Pantani was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Demetrio Lupi in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Savonarola walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
