When Augusto Valeriani came up free with the goalie in the 5th minute, the Tobbiana FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Augusto Valeriani couldn't finish the play. Alfonso Giusti's late challenge caught a Tobbiana FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alfonso Giusti helped the player get up and apologised. In the 11th minute, Augusto Valeriani got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 12 minutes, Fabiano Boccanera managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tobbiana FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fabiano Boccanera was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Fabio Cavaliere fell near the penalty area in the 17th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Borghetto's protests and gave Fabio Cavaliere a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Tobbiana FC getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Augusto Valeriani hit a great ball. In the 18th minute, Augusto Valeriani fired away a sharp free kick straight at the goal. It looked like it might be really tough for the goalie to handle, but the shot went into the stands to the left of Achille Giacomozzi. Augusto Valeriani might have been able to make a better finish in the 20th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Achille Giacomozzi. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Augusto Valeriani ran back to his position shaking his head. The audience was convinced that Fabiano Boccanera's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Achille Giacomozzi was relentless in the 22nd minute of the game. Tobbiana FC's Fulvio Nicolini played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ermanno Iacomini in the 24th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cristoforo Giampieri during the 27th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Fulvio Nicolini showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ermanno Iacomini in the 36th minute of the match. If Davide Scevola had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

With 54 minutes on the clock, Amos Lavatrice commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In the 56th minute there was a penalty for Tobbiana FC. Donato Marchegiani stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Achille Giacomozzi. 1-0. Davide Scevola struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Fulvio Nicolini didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Borghetto. After 62 played minutes Tobbiana FC got a freekick which was hit by Alessandro Pierucci. In the 63rd minute, Alvise Panino sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Tobbiana FC's Fulvio Nicolini didn't even have to move. After recieving a nice pass, Borghetto's Alvise Panino tried to score from far away in the 65th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Borghetto's zone, Fabiano Boccanera stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Achille Giacomozzi came out of the goal and Fabiano Boccanera tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Fabiano Boccanera sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Davide Scevola sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee showed Ermanno Iacomini the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Tobbiana FC getting a freekick after 97 minutes play. Comunardo Pellecchia hit a great ball. For all the effort they put into the match, the Borghetto players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Tobbiana FC.
