Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Alfonso Ascenzi kicked off to start the match. In the 5th minute Domenico Tarquini shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Comunardo Di Lullo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Aurelio Saturno showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alfonso Ascenzi, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. Alfredo Costa hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. Domenico Mastrangelo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Canonica getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Ermanno Galante hit a great ball. Canonica's Aurelio Saturno played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alfonso Ascenzi in the 21st minute of play. Comunardo Di Lullo came out of the goal in the 23rd minute to try and stop a shot by Canonica's Cristoforo Caniglia. But to his dismay, Cristoforo Caniglia quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. When Ferdinando Damiani fell near the penalty area in the 28th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Canonica's protests and gave Ferdinando Damiani a yellow card for diving instead. In the 29th match minute, Canonica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ferdinando Damiani to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Canonica's zone, Domenico Mastrangelo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aurelio Saturno came out of the goal and Domenico Mastrangelo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience was convinced that Alfonso Ascenzi's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Aurelio Saturno was relentless in the 35th minute of the game. In the 42nd minute, Cristoforo Caniglia ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Comunardo Di Lullo was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. After 48 played minutes Virgiliana got a freekick which was hit by Alessandro Di Florio. Comunardo Di Lullo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cristoforo Caniglia's shot from short distance in the 49th minute. The Virgiliana players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Canonica were winning 0-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Domenico Tarquini to make the kick off. The supporters of Virgiliana booed when Canonica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alfredo Costa didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Domenico Mastrangelo came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the Virgiliana fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Domenico Mastrangelo couldn't finish the play. Domenico Tarquini struck a weak shot in the 66th minute. Comunardo Di Lullo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Canonica. In the 68th minute the ball was on its way in behind Virgiliana's goalkeeper Comunardo Di Lullo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Virgiliana's Alfonso Ascenzi got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Alfonso Ascenzi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 74th minute, Domenico Mastrangelo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Virgiliana's supporters rose to their feet, but Domenico Mastrangelo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Aurelio Saturno breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Aurelio Saturno showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alfonso Ascenzi in the 77th minute of the match. Aurelio Saturno took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alfonso Ascenzi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Comunardo Di Lullo was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Domenico Tarquini showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-3 in the 84 minute of play. Domenico Tarquini struck a weak shot in the 89th minute. Comunardo Di Lullo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Canonica. Domenico Tarquini received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Comunardo Di Lullo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Domenico Tarquini in the 94th minute of play forced Virgiliana's goalkeeper Comunardo Di Lullo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Domenico Mastrangelo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Canonica's Alfredo Costa got a good chance for a goal in the 98th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Canonica's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
