The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 4 minutes into the match, Torrione Rossignoli's Anfilogino Paglione sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Anthony Penna narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Concetto Strazzabosco hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. In the 7th match minute, Torrione Rossignoli was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aurelio Palleschi to maneuver through the defense. In the 10thth minute of the game Alberto De Bartolo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Palese's Anthony Penna was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Carlo Simone received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Demetrio Caneva tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Biagio Arpaia took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 21st minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Demetrio Caneva. Torrione Rossignoli's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. If Alberto De Bartolo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 29th minute Alberto De Bartolo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Anthony Penna saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Torrione Rossignoli's Demetrio Caneva proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 30th minute of the match, managed to save Torrione Rossignoli from getting a goal against them. 32 minutes into the match, Palese's goal looked a bit too open when Alberto De Bartolo came free, but Anthony Penna reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 34 minutes of play, Torrione Rossignoli's Anfilogino Paglione made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Anthony Penna was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Aldo Cara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 39 played minutes Palese got a freekick which was hit by Bianco Testi. In the 40th minute, Beppe Di Tullio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When Carlo Simone came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the Palese fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Carlo Simone couldn't finish the play. After 55 played minutes Torrione Rossignoli got a freekick which was hit by Aldo Cara. The audience was convinced that Carlo Simone's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Demetrio Caneva was relentless in the 59th minute of the game. Carlo Simone sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Carlo Simone came up free with the goalie in the 63rd minute, the Palese fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Carlo Simone couldn't finish the play. Concetto Strazzabosco's late challenge caught a Torrione Rossignoli's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Concetto Strazzabosco helped the player get up and apologised. After 67 played minutes Palese got a freekick which was hit by Concetto Strazzabosco. After some fancy dribbling in the 70th minute, Bruno Camerlengo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Palese's supporters rose to their feet, but Bruno Camerlengo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Demetrio Caneva breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 73 minutes into the match, Palese's goal looked a bit too open when Alberto De Bartolo came free, but Anthony Penna reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 78th minute, Bruno Camerlengo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Palese fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. Palese's Carlo Simone got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Anfilogino Paglione sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 89 minutes into the match, Torrione Rossignoli's goal looked a bit too open when Carlo Simone came free, but Demetrio Caneva reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
