In the 7th match minute, Sestri Ponente FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Enrico Graziano to maneuver through the defense. 11 minutes into the match, Vigna Di Valle's goal looked a bit too open when Elia Niccolai came free, but Alfredo Cipriani reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Elia Niccolai fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alfredo Cipriani having to interfere. When Francesco Baruffa came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the Vigna Di Valle fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Francesco Baruffa couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Sestri Ponente FC's Eugenio Mazzocco got a free kick in the 18th minute. Elia Niccolai struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. Alfredo Cipriani didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sestri Ponente FC. Francesco Baruffa succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-0 in the 28th playminute. When Alessio Di Clemente fell near the penalty area in the 38th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Vigna Di Valle's protests and gave Alessio Di Clemente a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Vigna Di Valle's Alessio Di Clemente got a free kick in the 38th minute. In the 43rd minute, Alessio Cameli left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sestri Ponente FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Ernesto Fontana thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished Alfredo Cipriani, a very annoying self made goal in the 51st minute which led to 1-2. 55 minutes into the match, Francesco Baruffa had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Cosimo Mantini. Sestri Ponente FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Francesco Baruffa was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. Ettore Verdini fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alfredo Cipriani having to interfere. Cosimo Mantini showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Francesco Baruffa in the 61st minute of the match. Alessio Di Clemente was shown his second yellow card after 64 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Alessio Di Clemente hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. Alfredo Cipriani made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ettore Verdini in the 66th minute of play. A collision led to Vigna Di Valle getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Fabrizio Toninelli hit a great ball. When Ettore Verdini came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the Sestri Ponente FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ettore Verdini couldn't finish the play. Alfredo Cipriani made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ettore Verdini in the 75th minute of play. 77 minutes into the game, Adriano Cinque was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sestri Ponente FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Vigna Di Valle the free kick. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ettore Verdini in the 81st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Alfredo Cipriani saved Vigna Di Valle from getting behind. After 83 minutes, Emiliano Vitale mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Vigna Di Valle and the Sestri Ponente FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. 82 minutes into the game, one of Vigna Di Valle:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 84th minute there was a penalty for Sestri Ponente FC. Alberigo Ferrini stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Alfredo Cipriani. 2-3. If Ettore Verdini had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sestri Ponente FC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
