In the 9th match minute, Monreale FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Attilio Montini to maneuver through the defense. Franco Pili took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Andrea Bartolucci, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Emilio Marongiu made a fantastic save in the 14th minute, when Carlo Battista sent off a good shot on target. Ciccio Grandis succeeded in the game's 17th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-0. Carlo Battista sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ciccio Grandis in the 23rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Emilio Marongiu saved Celleno from getting behind. After a rather tough play, Celleno's Fulvio Santangelo got a free kick in the 25th minute. 29 minutes into the match, Monreale FC's Ciccio Grandis sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Emilio Marongiu narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The wind increased when Andrea Bartolucci made the kick off in the second half. After having played for 52 minutes, Carlo Battista managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Monreale FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Carlo Battista was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ferruccio Pazienza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 56 minutes, Ferruccio Pazienza managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Celleno's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ferruccio Pazienza was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Carlo Battista fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emilio Marongiu having to interfere. In the 61st minute Ciccio Grandis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emilio Marongiu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 64 minutes into the match, Celleno's Ferruccio Pazienza sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Franco Pili narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ferruccio Pazienza got free with Franco Pili in the 65th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ferruccio Pazienza's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Franco Pili read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 66th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Ciccio Grandis's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Emilio Marongiu was relentless in the 68th minute of the game. In the 75th match minute, Monreale FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carmine Toppi to maneuver through the defense. When Andrea Bartolucci came up free with the goalie in the 82nd minute, the Celleno fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Andrea Bartolucci couldn't finish the play. Arrigo De Leonardis kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniele Amicone in the 86th minute of play forced Celleno's goalkeeper Emilio Marongiu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 94 played minutes, Monreale FC's Alberigo Sardella shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Emilio Marongiu came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Monreale FC reached it. 95 minutes into the match, Monreale FC's goal looked a bit too open when Andrea Bartolucci came free, but Franco Pili reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ferruccio Pazienza got free with Franco Pili in the 98th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Monreale FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Celleno had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
