Spectators: 34 (Terracing: 26, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Enzo Marra got the match started through his kick off. When Arrigo Juliano came up free with the goalie in the 7th minute, the Vercelli fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Arrigo Juliano couldn't finish the play. Enzo Marra received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Emilio Marongiu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ferdinando Martelli kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. With a little luck, Vercelli's Anfilogino Polimeno got control of the ball when Ferruccio Pazienza tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ferruccio Pazienza recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 16th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the match had gone on for 20 minutes, Enzo Marra put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Emilio Marongiu. After a rather tough play, Vercelli's Enzo Marra got a free kick in the 23rd minute. The supporters of Vercelli booed when Celleno was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fulvio Santangelo didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Celleno getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Andrea Bartolucci hit a great ball. Corrado Volpe lost his temper 27 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 27th minute of the game. One of Celleno:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Vercelli:s goal. Ferruccio Pazienza received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Anfilogino Polimeno tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Celleno's Ferruccio Pazienza got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Emilio Marongiu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Enzo Marra in the 39th minute of play. Arrigo Juliano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emilio Marongiu having to interfere. After the first half Vercelli were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ferruccio Pazienza made a kick off. Cosimo Formica's late challenge caught a Vercelli's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cosimo Formica helped the player get up and apologised. In the 63rd match minute, Celleno was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cosimo Formica to maneuver through the defense. In the 64th minute of the match Ferdinando Martelli shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Emilio Marongiu showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Enzo Marra was extremely unlucky when he, in the 66th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Emilio Marongiu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arrigo Juliano in the 66th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Enzo Marra managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vercelli's supporters rose to their feet, but Enzo Marra was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Emilio Marongiu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a little luck, Celleno's Emilio Marongiu got control of the ball when Arrigo Juliano tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Ettore De Simone fell near the penalty area in the 74th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Celleno's protests and gave Ettore De Simone a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Celleno getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Ettore De Simone hit a great ball. In the 78th minute the ball was on its way in behind Celleno's goalkeeper Emilio Marongiu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Enzo Marra in the 85th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Emilio Marongiu saved Celleno from getting behind. Arrigo Juliano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Emilio Marongiu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Anfilogino Polimeno showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ferruccio Pazienza in the 90th minute of the match. After having played for 91 minutes, Fulvio Santangelo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Celleno's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fulvio Santangelo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ferruccio Pazienza received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Anfilogino Polimeno tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Arrigo Juliano succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 0-3 in the 97th playminute. The Vercelli supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Vercelli would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
