Bregnano's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ellera the free kick. Alberto Pellecchia hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. Cesare Guarrera sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpected shot in the 15th minute by Ernesto Rallo got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In the 16th minute, Bernardo Della Rocca hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Donato Liberatore fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Franco Chiavetta having to interfere. Franco Chiavetta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fedele Spinosa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 24thth minute of the game Cesare Guarrera who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Bregnano's Arturo Meo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Ellera's zone, Donato Liberatore stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Franco Chiavetta came out of the goal and Donato Liberatore tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 33rd minute Cesare Guarrera shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arturo Meo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dario Bonsignore took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 35th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Franco Chiavetta. Ellera's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Donato Liberatore sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 38th match minute, Ellera was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Davide Stragapede to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Ellera getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Alberigo Marchetti hit a great ball. After recieving a nice pass, Bregnano's Armando Alonzi tried to score from far away in the 40th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. After some careless play in the Bregnano defense, Ernesto Rallo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Arturo Meo. The Bregnano fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Arturo Meo should have stopped the shot.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Fedele Spinosa stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Alberigo Marchetti hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Ernesto Rallo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 61st minute Cesare Guarrera shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arturo Meo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Armando Alonzi charged in rather forcefully in the 67th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The audience thought a goal was coming when Donato Liberatore got free with Franco Chiavetta in the 71st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With his leg Franco Chiavetta managed to avoid a goal in the 73rdth minute, when Bregnano's Donato Liberatore fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Donato Liberatore struck a weak shot in the 74th minute. Franco Chiavetta didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bregnano. 80 minutes into the match, Ellera's goalkeeper Franco Chiavetta had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Donato Liberatore. A hard shot 81 in the game by Donato Liberatore from a close distance when the talented Franco Chiavetta managed to make a qualified save. Ellera's players were relieved. 82 minutes into the game, Davide Stragapede was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Donato Liberatore recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Cesare Guarrera struck a weak shot in the 95th minute. Arturo Meo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ellera.
