Claudio Curti recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alfredo Rotili got free with Alfredo Pietrangelo in the 44th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Biagio Allemandi stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Claudio Spano fell near the penalty area in the 54th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Vason FC's protests and gave Claudio Spano a yellow card for diving instead. In the 54th match minute, Vason FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Claudio Spano to maneuver through the defense. Vason FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Edoardo Raffa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Donato Trotta breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Claudio Curti's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Alfredo Pietrangelo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 82nd minute of play. In the 85th minute the ball was on its way in behind Avegno FC's goalkeeper Donato Trotta, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A collision led to Vason FC getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Claudio Spano hit a great ball. 88 minutes into the match, Vason FC's goal looked a bit too open when Alfredo Rotili came free, but Alfredo Pietrangelo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 88th match minute, Vason FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alvaro Campitelli to maneuver through the defense. 91 minutes into the game, Avegno FC's Claudio Curti nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Alfredo Pietrangelo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. 97 minutes into the match, Alfredo Rotili had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Alfredo Pietrangelo. Vason FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Alfredo Rotili was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0.
