Gavasseto's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mondello FC the free kick. Camillo Lazzaro kicked well hit freekick during the 3rd minute of the match. If Beppe Lauri had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Filippo Piano struck a weak shot in the 17th minute. Achille Fortuna didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gavasseto. Comunardo Scarano might have been able to make a better finish in the 20th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Achille Fortuna. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Comunardo Scarano ran back to his position shaking his head. When Alfonso Oberrauch fell near the penalty area in the 20th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Mondello FC's protests and gave Alfonso Oberrauch a yellow card for diving instead. Alfonso Oberrauch kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. Alfonso Oberrauch hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Beppe Lauri in the 24th minute of play forced Mondello FC's goalkeeper Achille Fortuna to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Comunardo Scarano's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 26thth minute, Achille Fortuna skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. If Beppe Lauri had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Flavio Fantini stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Domenico Mammarella's shot from short distance in the 31st minute. Comunardo Scarano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Achille Fortuna having to interfere. In the last second Achille Fortuna throw himself and got hold of the ball when Beppe Lauri in the 35thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. Alex Canuto took the ball and in the 44 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Flavio Fantini. Flavio Fantini dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Dennis Chiavetta's late challenge caught a Gavasseto's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dennis Chiavetta helped the player get up and apologised. Dennis Chiavetta kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. The Gavasseto players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Mondello FC were winning 0-1.

58 minutes into the match, Beppe Lauri notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Mondello FC's Achille Fortuna. Achille Fortuna was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Comunardo Scarano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 70th minute Amerigo Pelusi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Flavio Fantini saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mondello FC's Achille Fortuna played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Beppe Lauri in the 72nd minute of play. Alfonso Oberrauch hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. If Comunardo Scarano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gavasseto's Comunardo Scarano managed to work through Mondello FC's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Comunardo Scarano dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. In the 81st minute Beppe Lauri shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Achille Fortuna saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Beppe Lauri sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Domenico Mammarella got free with Flavio Fantini in the 88th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Amerigo Pelusi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mondello FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Amerigo Pelusi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Flavio Fantini breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 92 minutes, Domenico Mammarella managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mondello FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Domenico Mammarella was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Filippo Piano charged in rather forcefully in the 93rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Filippo Piano the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. If Beppe Lauri had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
